Head of Vis Dev/creative director/Art Director
As a Creative Director, Head of Visual Development, Art Director, Designer, and Visual Strategist, Michael Uwandi has brought his vision to projects including Moon Knight, Dungeons & Dragons, Blue Beetle, Star Wars: The Mandalorian, Star Trek: Picard, Predator: Killer of Killers, Insomniac's upcoming Wolverine game, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, and Fortnite.
Michael is also the recipient of the International TCCF MIFA Prize, awarded at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in recognition of his original animated series, Achugogo: Tale of the Spring Chaser.
As a visual storyteller, he has collaborated with premier studios, including Marvel, Netflix, Warner Bros., ILM, Disney, DC, and Sony, helping define tone, world-building, and design language at a strategic level. He has also contributed to Emmy-nominated productions, including The Mandalorian, Moon Knight, Westworld, and The Book of Boba Fett.
Michael also co-founded 9B Collective—the first Black-owned visual development studio—where he led creative initiatives that advanced greater representation in storytelling and entertainment, directing international teams as a Creative Director, Design Consultant, and Visual Lead.
Through partnerships with the Brick Foundation, Vijona, and the Compton Alliance, he supports access and mentorship pipelines for emerging talent.
